Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 7, 2025

BreakerBase ("us", "we", or "our") operates the BreakerBase web application (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

This is a template privacy policy. You should seek legal advice to customize this policy to your specific needs and ensure compliance with applicable laws.

Information Collection and Use

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

Data Stored in Local Storage

Our Service utilizes your browser's local storage to save your application data, such as breaker lists, cable tray information, panel configurations, and calculator inputs. This data is stored directly on your device within your web browser and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. You have control over this data and can clear it by clearing your browser's cache and site data.

Usage Data (Hypothetical)

We may also collect information on how the Service is accessed and used ("Usage Data"). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.(Note: Currently, this application does not implement collection of such usage data. This section is a placeholder if such features are added in the future.)

Log Data

As a client-side application, we do not maintain server logs of your activity in the same way a traditional server-hosted application might. Errors or exceptions occurring within the client-side application may be logged to your browser's developer console.

Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. Our Service may use cookies to manage sidebar state or other UI preferences. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, some portions of our Service may not function properly. The ad service integrated on the homepage may use its own cookies for ad personalization and tracking. Please refer to the ad provider's privacy policy for more details.

Use of Data

BreakerBase uses the collected data (primarily local storage data managed by you) for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service
  • To allow you to customize and save your work within the application
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service when you choose to do so

Genkit AI Features

Our "AI Doubt Clarifier" feature uses Genkit to communicate with generative AI models (e.g., Google Gemini). When you submit a question to the AI Doubt Clarifier:

  • Your question text is sent to the AI model.
  • The AI model processes this input and generates a response.
  • No personal data beyond the question you type is intentionally sent to the AI model by our application for this feature.
  • Please do not include sensitive personal information in your questions to the AI.
  • The use of these AI models is subject to the terms and privacy policies of the respective AI model providers (e.g., Google).

Advertisements

This application displays advertisements from third-party ad networks. These ad networks may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide relevant advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. We do not control the data collection or privacy practices of these third-party ad networks. Please review their respective privacy policies for more information.

Security

The security of your data is important to us. Since the primary application data is stored in your browser's local storage, the security of this data largely depends on the security of your own device and browser. We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data where applicable (e.g., if user accounts were implemented), but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
